President & CEO

Chad began his construction career working side by side with his father Paul Magleby. After graduating from BYU’s Construction Management program, he cut the strings and moved to Georgia to work for a large regional home builder. For nearly four years he proved himself managing many projects; learning and advancing in that company. Chad returned to Magleby Construction as a project manager and worked his way up in the company to become its president in 2011. Chad became the majority owner of the company in 2013.

Chad’s leadership at Magleby Construction continues to make Magleby a nationally-recognized construction company. Through his leadership the company has grown geographically and in volume while continuing to maintain the core values that have made Magleby a leader in the construction industry. Chad’s ability to surround himself with professionals who are dedicated to building excellence continues to provide each of Magleby’s customers with the best possible new-construction experience.

Chad enjoys spending time with his family, especially on the ski slopes and serving in the community. His care for his customers and employees is evident by the many things he does to make the Magleby experience unique and professional in every way. Chad holds the following certifications:

Todd Christensen

C. Todd Christensen

Senior Vice President of Construction

In the summer of 1973 Todd began his career in construction. Todd has been passionate about the construction industry since those early years. Todd started as a laborer and was lucky to work with master carpenters and builders. Ted was mentored and taught skill, in all aspects of construction, by the best. After many years of working with his own hands, Todd was given the opportunity to work for Magleby Construction. At Magleby, Todd expanded his knowledge and skills in all areas of construction. Todd has overseen many large and complicated projects as a site manager and Sr. VP of Construction. For over 34 years Todd has been part of the Magleby team. Todd oversees all Magleby construction using the skills acquired through education and hands on experience. Todd currently holds the following licenses and certifications:

  • B100 Utah Contractor’s License since 1981
  • Building Science Thermographer
  • Level 1 Building Investigation Thermographer
  • Certified Concrete Flatwork Finisher

Allen Rasmussen 3

Allen Rasmussen

Site Manager

Allen is a farmer and cowboy at heart although he is very passionate about his construction. He began building as a youth with his father, grandfather and uncle. He began working construction while in high school to support his hobby of rodeo and has been doing it now for over 35 years. He became a general contractor in 1994 and joined the Magleby team in 1999 as a finish carpenter. Allen was promoted to an assistant site manager in 2001 and began working as a site manager in 2005. Since that time Allen has has worked on many of the Company’s best projects including many homes that won awards in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes. in 2013 he managed the UHBA Custom Home of the Year.

Allen continues to enjoy rodeos in the team roping competitions, farming and spending time with his family and extended family on there construction endeavors and passing on the craftsmanship skills to the next generation.

 

Craig Hassell

Site Manager

Craig started working as a laborer/carpenter in the spring of 2000 for a custom home builder in Utah County. After working to put himself through school, graduating  with a Construction Management degree from BYU in 2003, Craig spent the next 30 months in South Carolina working for a tract-home builder.  Craig returned to Utah in the fall of 2005 as an assistant Site Manager for Magleby Construction. In the summer of 2006 Craig was promoted to Site Manager working for Magleby Remodel. Over the next several years, Craig oversaw several large and complicated remodel projects. His success as a key member of the Remodel team resulted in his promotion to Remodel Division Manager. In the summer of 2014, Craig was asked to run a large project in Deer Valley for Magleby Estate Homes. Craig currently holds the following certifications:

  • NAHB Certified Graduate Remodeler
  • NAHB Master Certified Green Professional
  • NAHB Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist

Jason Runolfson

Site Manager

Jason Runolfson started his career in the construction industry in 1994 working for a general contractor performing all aspects of construction but specializing in rough framing carpentry. In the fall of 1998 he began working for Magleby as a framer. In 2001 he became an Estate Homes Site Manager supervising the construction of high-end custom homes. Since that time he has built a number of homes as well as several commercial projects. Jason enjoyed the opportunity to work under and learn from a number of master craftsmen over the years. He is married and has 5 children. He lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah in a home that he built himself. He loves what he does and takes pride in his work. He also realizes there is great value in the relationships he has made over the years in the construction industry. He holds the following certifications:

  • 10 Hour OSHA Training

Jeff Atkinson

Jeff Atkinson

Project Manager

Jeff started his construction career in 2002. For 6 years Jeff worked with a business partner establishing a successful company that built homes throughout Utah County. His personal experience includes senior leadership, construction supervision/management, real estate sales, marketing, on-site construction management, land development and real estate. In 2008 Jeff was given the great opportunity to work for Magleby Construction. He brings with him his passion for success and attention to detail. As a Project Manager with Magleby, Jeff has managed several large and complicated projects. Jeff is Magleby’s NGBS expert and coordinates all homes in the certification process. He continually strives to learn and improve his skills through educational and training opportunities. He holds the following certifications:

Kelly Ewell

Site Manager

Kelly grew up in the construction industry working side by side with his dad. He started with Paul Magleby in May of 1981 as a laborer. Kelly worked his way up in the company moving to framing, leading the excavation group and for the last twenty years as a site manager. Due to Kelly’s expertise he is assigned some of the most difficult new home projects. In his spare time, Kelly enjoys Mountain Man events. He holds the following certifications:

  • Commercial and Industrial Concrete Flatwork Technician

Richard Dorius

Richard Dorius

Site Manager

Richard got his start in construction at the early age of 8 (or even earlier). Richard started his Magleby career at the end of summer after graduation in 1975 when Paul Magleby hired him. Richard is the longest working employee for Magleby Construction. He started working as a laborer and has worked his way up to Site Manager. Richard is a very respected and talented employee with a specialty in finished carpentry.

Richard has been married to his wife, Mary Jo, for 38 years.They have 5 kids and 9 grand kids. When Richard isn’t working and spending time with his family, Richard loves outdoor activities like driving his Razor, going boating, and camping.

Richard had construction in his blood from a young age and joined the Magleby Construction team in 2000.  He worked his way through a number of positions, including general laborer, cabinet maker/installer, cabinet shop manager, and currently works as the Senior Project Manager with the Estate Homes group.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Utah and is currently working toward his MBA at Utah State University.  Dedicated to continued learning and growth in building science, Richard holds certifications as a NAHB Green Professional and Master Green Builder.  He is married with two kids and enjoys spending time with them skiing and mountain biking.  He is also an avid fisherman and spends weekends grilling up delicious dinners for his family.

Zach Hassell

Zach Hassell

Estimator

Prior to receiving his BS in Construction Management from Brigham Young University, Zach worked as an estimator for a footing and foundation contractor in the Salt Lake valley. After graduation, he worked in various aspects of project management for commercial general contractors along the Wasatch Front and in Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, Zach was a project manager and estimator for an environmental restoration and landscape firm. Zach joined Magleby Construction in 2013 and is responsible for estimating in our Estate, Communities and Remodel groups. Zach is an Eagle Scout and is married to Tara with three daughters and three sons.
