Chad began his construction career working side by side with his father Paul Magleby. After graduating from BYU’s Construction Management program, he cut the strings and moved to Georgia to work for a large regional home builder. For nearly four years he proved himself managing many projects; learning and advancing in that company. Chad returned to Magleby Construction as a project manager and worked his way up in the company to become its president in 2011. Chad became the majority owner of the company in 2013.

Chad’s leadership at Magleby Construction continues to make Magleby a nationally-recognized construction company. Through his leadership the company has grown geographically and in volume while continuing to maintain the core values that have made Magleby a leader in the construction industry. Chad’s ability to surround himself with Professionals who are Dedicated to Building Excellence continues to provide each of Magleby’s customers with the best possible new-construction experience.

Chad enjoys spending time with his family, especially on the ski slopes and serving in the community. His care for his customers and employees is evident by the many things he does to make the Magleby experience unique and professional in every way. Chad holds the following certifications:

Paul Magleby was named the first National Custom Homebuilder of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders in 2007. The award was based not only on the excellence of his company’s products, but also on Paul’s many contributions to the homebuilding industry and the community at large.  In addition to being named National Builder of the Year in 2007, Paul was named the Builder of the Year for a second time in the local Utah Valley Home Building Association in 2008. Paul’s dedication to building excellence established Magleby Construction as a premiere home-builder in Utah. His ability to fuse lasting relationships gave the company and its team of craftsmen a nation-wide reputation for quality.

Brad Simons

Vice President & CFO

Brad began his career in the home building industry working with his father while in high school. Brad expanded his experience as division president of a regional home building company, CFO of a worker’s compensation carrier and as president of a local custom building company. Brad earned his BA from the University of Utah and his MBA from Westminster College. Brad is past president of the Utah Valley Home Builder’s Association and serves as a member of the National Association of Home Builders board of directors. Brad is the 2014 president of Utah County Habitat for Humanity and was awarded the Silver Beaver for his work with the Boy Scouts of America. Brad has been a licensed real estate broker for 25 years. Brad is married to Shawn, they have four kids and a grandson. Brad holds the following certifications & degrees:

Todd Christensen

Senior Vice President of Construction

In the summer of 1973 Todd began his career in construction. Todd has been passionate about the construction industry since those early years. Todd started as a laborer and was lucky to work with master carpenters and builders. Todd was mentored and taught skills in all aspects of construction by the best. After many years of working with his own hands, Todd was given the opportunity to work for Magleby Construction. At Magleby, Todd expanded hisknowledge and skills in all aspects of construction. Todd has overseen many large and complicated projects as a site manager and Sr. VP of Construction. For over 34 years Todd has been part of the Magleby team. Todd oversee all Magleby construction using the skills acquired through education and hands on experience. Todd currently holds the following licenses and certifications:

Paul Ashby

Vice President of Trade Groups

Paul started work in the construction industry well before entering the full-time work force.  Early in life, he worked as a draftsman and then as an architectural scale model builder for a couple of local architects.  While attending BYU and eventually graduating in Construction Management, he began working as an Assistant Project Manager for a Utah County builder.  During his 6 years with this builder, Paul developed a comprehensive Project Management system for the company as well as many other business and accounting systems, this while continuing to project manage many high-end residential projects.

In 2001, Paul entered BYU’s Executive MBA program while continuing to work full-time.  A few months into the program, in March 2002, Paul joined the Magleby team and commenced a similar multi-year journey of systems creation and project management.  In 2006, after Magleby had grown significantly, Paul was named Senior Project Manager and led a team of Project Managers for several years.  In 2010, following the recession and some difficult times for the construction industry, Paul was asked to take on the challenge of running all of Magleby’s in-house trade organizations.  Currently he manages the cabinetry, doors and moldings group; the carpentry group – that performs framing, finish carpentry and labor services; and the excavation group.

Paul currently holds the following designations:

For nearly two decades, Paul has been heavily involved in the Utah Valley Home Builders Association and from 2009 to 2012 served on the executive committee being named President in 2011.  Currently he serves on the UVHBA Board of Directors.

Leon Schwab

Vice President of Remodel

Leon began his building career at the age of eighteen working for a custom home builder. Seven years later he launched his own home remodeling business, which he successfully owned and operated for seventeen years before joining the Magleby team. Leon built his reputation on hard work, beautiful craftsmanship, clear communication with clients and attention to every detail. He is committed to giving Magleby’s customers a finished project that exceeds expectations. Leon is married, has four children and one grandson.

Layne Thompson

President of Sun Valley

Layne’s passion for construction originated from his intrigue with architecture and the creation of space within the built environment. Experiencing how a project can be first conceived virtually and then realized in the real world never gets old for him and drives him to this day. Layne’s background includes roles of Project Engineer, Estimator, Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager and Principal on numerous high-end residential and commercial projects. Using ingenuity and collaboration to capture value for his clients by building better, faster and more efficient projects is the fuel that continues to drive him.

In the spring of 2014, Layne joined the Magleby team and jumped at the challenge of managing the newly founded Magleby Construction Sun Valley group. Later that year, Layne’s wife, Kellie, and their three children moved to the Wood River Valley from Jackson Hole and have since enjoyed calling the area home. Layne enjoys spending time in the outdoors cycling, skiing, backpacking, rafting and fishing. Layne holds the following certifications:

Pierrette Tierney

Vice President of Business Development

Pierrette joins the Magleby team with a wealth of professional construction experience. In her career she managed top performing homebuilding businesses across the Southwest and California including the Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Sacramento markets. Most recently Pierrette served as Division President for Taylor Morrison in the Bay Area of California. In this position she oversaw growing the company from the 9th largest builder to the largest builder in the Silicon Valley with over a 15% market share.

In her career Pierrette has overseen the development and implementation of over 100 master-planned, active adult, high-density, and luxury home communities. Her vast operations experience and passion for sales, marketing, customer service and design are a compliment to the Magleby legacy.
