Cabinet & Millwork Draftsman

Job Summary

Creates complete shop drawings and proposals. Partners with Designer and shop. Works in a team environment, performing any task as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works hard in a team environment
Creates complete shop drawings from basic concept sketches
Sifts through complex Architectural plan sets and creates proposals (including complete door schedules, concept drawings & shop drawings)
Assists in part-listing when necessary
Willing to perform any type of labor on an as-needed basis

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Completes other duties as assigned

Education / Experience Requirements

1+ year Experience as an AutoCAD Drafter in the Millwork industry, preferred
Proficient using AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision and MasterCAM
Understands millwork fabrication assemblies (wood passage & entry door assemblies)

Experience with purchasing, inventory reconciliation, scheduling and hands on woodworking experience (especially with emphasis in Architectural Doors, Cabinetry and Moldings) are a plus
Must have reliable transportation to and from work – Millwork Facility (Shop) is in Lindon, Utah

The employee is also required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, wind, and heat. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Works from a normal office setting; however, performs a significant amount of work in all spaces within the facility. May need to work outside in all types of weather or in all kinds of work environments.

Hazards

May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments; occasionally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts, heavy machinery, lasers, powder-actuated tools, and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to internal liquids. This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
