Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

Performs comprehensive accounting and operational support. Reports to and assists Finance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and maintain financial records.
Process credit applications, lien waivers, and support tax compliance filings (sales tax, personal property tax, 1099s).
Assist with preparing and distributing accurate financial and operational reports.
Administer the corporate credit card program, ensuring compliance, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
Support data entry, documentation, and updates for reporting tools and dashboards.
Collaborate on vehicle fleet, title, inventory tracking, and fixed asset reconciliation with operations teams.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Assist Finance Manager as needed
Any other tasks assigned

Education / Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting or financial operations experience required; residential construction experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Works from a normal office setting; however, performs a significant amount of work in all spaces within the facility. May need to work outside in all types of weather or in all kinds of work environments.

Hazards

May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments; occasionally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts, heavy machinery, lasers, powder-actuated tools, and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to internal liquids. This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
